Week 10_2D Design Fabrication
This project explores the transformation of 2D graphic design into a 2D fabrication experience. Starting from Adobe Illustrator, I selected three futuristic-inspired patterns including a brain, a heart, and a hand, then translated them into line-based graphics. By reducing complex imagery into contours and structured linework, the visuals became more adaptable for fabrication while maintaining a sense of depth and texture.
Using a laser cutter, I fabricated the designs into three puzzle pieces, which make the final work more interactive and interesting. When assembled, the flat engraved surfaces interact with light and perspective, creating an illusion of dimensionality that bridges 2D and 3D perception. This project reflects my ongoing interest in combining graphic design, digital fabrication, and interactive perception to create more immersive visual experiences.
